Handmade Christmas Decorations in Pink and Blue

cover_648x360Around Thanksgiving I put up our first Christmas tree since the move from AZ to TX. I never got to use the brand new tree I purchased before the move last year. So I decided this year would be a pink Christmas. Since my handmade jewelry business brand colors are pink and blue, I’d originally purchased the Pretty in Pink pre-lit Christmas tree from Treetopia with the intention of placing it in my new bead store. Alas, the shop has not come to fruition and 2015 has been a rough one for little progress in my sparkle biz.

With help from The Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby and my very own overflowing craft closet…I decorated my new tree, updated my vine wreathe and made some floral arrangements. So fun to create frugal handmade decorations that pull together a specific theme. This year’s decor, although not the traditional Christmas red and green, is still quite sparkle-tastic. The only drawback is that the lights do not twinkle on the pre-lit tree.

This tutorial gives a few tips on ornaments such as a handmade gift package with puffy bow, glass ornaments filled with coordinating ribbon bits, tree topper and wreathe. Separate videos will explain more in depth about the glass ornaments and wreathe updates.
