Dollar Tree Easter Haul and Craft Tutorials
Here’s a Dollar Tree haul stuffed with two Easter themed craft tutorials for additional projects I had in the hopper. lol. See what I did there? lol. Video below.
After teaching a jewelry making class, I ran across the parking lot to one of my favorite stores- The Dollar Tree!! I love this place because not only can I get some great deals on everyday household items like beauty and cleaning supplies, but they’ve got some great candy, holiday-themed decorations, stationery, and craft items that I can use for my videos. And let’s not forget… they occasionally have some awesome washi tape!
Easter DIY Craft Tutorials
Today I’m making a cute pair of sparkly Easter egg earrings, a few greeting cards and gathering goodies to fill up some cute baskets for my beading friends. (I’ll be releasing a second video which will be the basket giveaway, so please be sure to come back to my YouTube channel for that.
Supplies to Make the Easter Egg Earrings:
- Glittery foam Easter eggs
- 2″ or 3″ Headpins
- French style/ fish hook ear wires
- Optional: seed beads or daisy spacers
To Make the Earrings:
- Use flat nose pliers to help guide the headpin through the center of the foam egg from the bottom towards the top. Be careful to take your time so it doesn’t rip a large portion off the top of the egg.
- Add a seed bead, daisy spacer or any other combination to the top of the egg.
- Make a wire wrapped loop (shown in the video tutorial).
- Attach the completed dangle to an ear wire.
- Complete the second earring and wear or give away!
Supplies to Make the Easter Greeting Cards:
- Cardstock, 4×6, or 5×7 blank card bases
- Adhesive
- Easter stickers
- Washi tape (I love this stuff!)
- Glitter glue or pens
- Any embellishments such as rhinestones, gems, sequins, etc.
- Envelopes
To make the Cards:
- Use a paper trimmer if cutting down a piece of cardstock to either a size 4×6 or 5×7.
- Embellish the card however you wish with stickers, washi tape, rhinestones, glitter glue or paper pieces.
- If giving away to someone locally, make the card the centerpiece of your Easter basket gift presentation.
- If mailing, be sure the embellished card fits inside the envelope or place inside a bubble mailer to ensure it remains intact during shipping.
