My Experience Using Xuron Jewelry Making Pliers for 1 Year

Xuron Jewelry Making Pliers Review

I purchased several Xuron jewelry-making pliers last Christmas and have been using them to create my designs. Here’s a quick review of my Xuron jewelry making pliers to help in your decision-making process about brand names of tools vs. their reliability.

Are There Perfect Pliers To Use for Beading?

I have some pros and cons with these Xuron pliers, but the same is true with most brands that I utilize in my beading projects.  I’ve yet to find the perfect jewelry pliers, but Xuron is functional, ergonomic and sturdy. The jewelry making pliers that you choose should depend on your skill level, budget and the size of your creation and storage space – not just a brand name. In many cases, however, brand names such as Xuron and Wubber are shown to be a solid tool line to collect as you progress in your beading designs.

Xuron Jewelry Making Pliers That I Purchased

I purchased six different styles of Xuron jewelry-making pliers for various beading functions including the cutting of bead stringing wire.

The Nitty Gritty About my Xuron Pliers

PROS:
      • well-made quality
      • made in the USA
      • ergonomic for my carpal tunnel issues
      • multiple types of pliers for all levels of jewelry design skills
      • handles do not shift over time with frequent use
      • covered by a factory warranty if authentic Xuron Corp pliers
      • Xuron Corp. has a handy PDF product brochure specific to jewelry making needs
CONS:
      • black tips keep you from easily marking standard loop size references
      • black tips show wear if you use a lot in wire wrapping designs (easily remedied by dipping into Tool Magic)
      • cost is slightly more than comparable brands with silver tips not requiring coating

Newbies May Want the Bead Landing Tool Kit

In all, I have been enjoying my Xuron jewelry-making pliers. If you are brand new to jewelry making, I would suggest trying less expensive plier kits such as this one at Michaels. This Bead Landing set has lasted me since I began my beading career and is the go-to economical plier kit that I recommend to my students. You can always upgrade to higher quality and additional specialized pliers as you advance in your skills.
