I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. We recently got a new kitten named Willy and he’s been keeping me busy! Here’s another jewelry packaging tutorial for those of you looking for alternatives in displaying and shipping your handmade designs.
Easy Earring Cards Foldover Hang Tag Punch Review
Before I begin the tutorial, this is not a sponsored product review although I did provide a separate video clip for the company to use on their social media regarding this same project. I purchased a set of punches from Easy Earring Cards prior to approaching them for any potential partnership opportunities and have been enjoying their tools for my marketing and branding needs.
Project Supplies -Cards
- 5×7 Cardstock in coordinating pattern for jewelry theme
- Foldover Hang Tag Punch
- 4×6 Ziplock bag (themed or plain)
- Bracelet (shown is a memory wire Red Queen charm bracelet)
- Stapler
Optional Card Making Supplies
- Paper trimmer
- Scoring board/ bone folder
- Corner rounder
- Embellishments of choice (ex. rhinestone stickers or Stickles glitter glue)
Instructions
- Remove 2 pieces of cardstock from a 5×7 paper pad.
- Cut 1 of the pieces in half for the bracelet and earrings portions.
- You can trim down as needed based on the bracelet style, as explained in the video for this memory wire design.
- Punch holes at the bottom of the card with the foldover hang tag punch.
- Decorate card accordingly if desired using stickers and/or other embellishments.
- Hang bracelet on the folded part of the card.
- Staple or use tape/ embellishment to seal.
- Slide card with bracelet down into a Ziplock bag.
- For a bag topper, follow the same punching and folding that you did for the smaller bracelet hang tag. Instead of folding the bottom portion of the tag, let that act as a backing for the bag/ bracelet. You can also write a sentiment like a card or stick a label with info about the design or supplies used.
- Use the leverback or double post punches on leftover ATC 2.5×3.5″ card for earrings.
